Originating from Italy, Orzo was created to provide an alternative to rice while still boasting the appealing pasta flavors and texture already prevalent in Mediterranean diets. This simple, short cut pasta is easy to make and even easier to use.

  • Subtle flavor blend that lends well to incorporating into recipes or using as a side
  • Use hot or cold in place of rice in risottos, soups, or salads
  • Cook with stock and herbs to add flavor and serve as a side dish

Add 1 cup of orzo to a large pot of boiling water with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.  Cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente and strain. Rinse with cold water to cool for salads or use immediately in hot preparations.
